Not 395, not 402 wolves. Man it must suck to be on 'team Edward' right now. It is sure obvious that these must be warewolves. It's a slam dunk.
They were on a training exercise. These are all ex-russian military soldiers converted by medical experiments. They couldn't afford to pay them, so they gave them something so they only have to work for food.
Is that 210 english pounds or russian lira? I never get those symbols right. If it's lira, that's like $2. It doesn't even cover the cost of the ammo. If it's pounds, that's like $280 US. Hell, I'll fly there and let's start 'a shootin'.

Hmmm,

It seems very unlikely, a pack of four hundred?!

How will the alpha male and female control it??
They most likely can't...
It's also very unlikely these are hundreds of packs, because wolves are fierce competitors and will kill a member from another pack if given the chance.

Also this giant pack has to have a steady source of food. The wolves will have to be on the move all of the time, so why are they not noticed earlier.

But Maybe just maybe they made an evolutionary leap and learned that working together pays of.
Next year someone will find the first chickens which are domesticated by wolfs :)

It would be cool though if it's true. It will mean we're far from understanding these animals from which we think we know so much. If this goes, i think we'll have to reconsider or question many things...

Can we take up a collection to not kill the wolves?

Verkhoyansk is the third smallest town in Russia with only 1400 or so people as of 2002. The article claims only 1300. Maybe these people can be paid to take a train to Moscow and get real jobs.
