One book on a pre-Egyptian civilization is “Land of Osiris” by Stephen Mehler. He calls the civilization “Khemitian” after the ancient Egyptians’ name for their land.

It is a little distressing that the builders of civilization always seem to be cast as villians in these films.

Well, I remember someone mentioning one book in particular, relating to this movie, about a pre-Egyptian civilization that lived in Egypt, and were actually the ones who built the great pyramids and the Sphinx.
