Ok, I know how everyone feels from the "no-kill" school, and we would all hate to see someone in a suit get shot (no matter how much hoaxers irk us all), but am I the only one willing to admit that I'd be excited as a kid on Christmas morning if a police officer could offer us a body to study?

I'm always excited by reports from law enforcement as well, not because they are any less fallible than any of the rest of us, but because society as a whole lends them (and their observational skills) more credibility. I know I come from a small town, and the police there don't have the police academy training that big-city police have, but we still hold them to a higher standard of truth (plus the fact that they could potentially put their careers in jeopardy by claiming sightings of what are largely believed to be "mythic" creatures). Despite the fact that I know small town/rural police don't always have the same training, I'm still more willing to offer law enforcement the benefit of the doubt.

As for cameras on the dashboards of the reservation police cars, let's just hope these particular reservation police were able to take advantage of some of those post 9/11 homeland security grants, the way other small departments were, to upgrade their equipment.

We all hope they don't shoot a Sasquatch.
...but I think this is the time for realising Sasquatch is real.
You too sceptics.
What to do to now in order to protect this amazing North American Ape (a North American Ape!)?
Not only us, but everyone else soon, will know they're here.
This could be a good thing; treat your new species well!!

sausage1 Says:
As a city dwelling Englishman, I find reports of cryptids right in amongst civilisation far more intriguing than repoets from the ends of the Earth.

I couldn't agree more, Sausage1. I am apparently dealing with occasional visitations myself, in a sizeable NM town. I SAID "APPARENTLY"; don't all pack up and come here with your stuff!

Just interesting whistling and vocalizations, and some quite close by. I live alone, and I haven't worked up the courage to go out and investigate at 3 or 4 a.m....

It is interesting to note: According to Native American folklore, Sasquatch sightings happen during times of trouble, or are a sign of trouble to come. This sighting being by a reservation and all..

Lord of Shades- Not a Biscardi anywhere to be seen...yet. But you better believe once he gets wind of this he'll hurry off and have a looksy (By which I mean he will wave his arms about until someone in the media has a look at him).

I'm trying to remain reserved, but I admit this situation is very intriguing. And if belief in Sasquatch is so high in the region, perhaps potshots will be low. From what I get out of what's been reported here, the police seem to be more observers than pursuers. Makes sense. Think about it, if you believed they were spirit entities of some kind, or lived in a society where many other people held this belief, would you want to be the one who harms one? Bad mojo, all around.

As for dashboard cams, this is a very poor reservation, so I wouldn't expect the local police to have the latest gear. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Good morning Bloggers....

A few comments...I have never met a Native American who did not accept Sasquatch as a real creature....with respect to hybrids....many folks are convinced there was a sasquatch in my family woodpile...LOL

These creatures have not survived for millenia...being stupid...a wary respect for man's hostility and aggression is probably instinctive....rightly so as evidenced by some of the BS touted here...JMHO

seeing is believing...

I lived on the Pine Ridge reservation last year. You would be hard pressed to find a single person there who doesn't believe in the existence of bigfoot. I personally heard police on the scanners, talking excitedly about sightings and pursuits of bigfoot. No one in their right mind would dress up in a bigfoot costume for fear of being shot and killed. Lots of hunters around there, lol, Lakota are well armed. Also, nobody has the money to be wasting on gorilla costumes...it's the poorest county in America. Two of my relatives out there have seen bigfoot. It's existence is commonly accepted.
