This is a fantastic start. We, the Cryptomundians, should All sign this petition now. I believe it was Washington or Oregon that passed just such a law, punishable by fine, jail, or both. C'mon, people, let's get behind this (do it for the big guy!).

I keep sayin' it: they don't need our help one bit. We need theirs However, getting official recognition does have its good points. But not for our self-validation! That's just ego talkin'!

Well, OK, this might not be the way I'd go about it.

But the idea is on the right track.

Scientists who believe the evidence indicates a species that exists but awaits classification could make the case for provisional acknowledgement.

We won't know why the reticence - and continued acquiesence in ridicule, which is inexcusable - in the scientific community exists, or what can break it, until an effort is made to put this on the table.

Were I one of the scientists who believes there's something out there I'd like to confirm as real before I, you know, die, I'd want to bring some colleagues together to talk about this. Waiting for the body on the slab hasn't worked, and anyone cognizant of the evidence would be justified in wondering: why continue waiting for something no one is looking for?
