Well, sasquatch, those are plausible reasons why it could be a Bigfoot. Indeed an animal could become habituated to the area and its sound of air traffic and I suppose it could have a baby Bigfoot on it's head, this would be in keeping with large primate behavior. It could be an alien with a spacesuit on too, for all we can tell. I am not convinced by this video that this is a Bigfoot and believe there is a mundane explanation from what I can see and weighing the characteristics of the subject. As for the hoax part, I am not sure this was a planned hoax. I think the occupants of the helicopter saw something they took to be strange, filmed it, and now it is becoming clear it may not be what they thought it was. I do not believe they went through all this trouble for a hoax.

Still leaves the problem of why they would mistake a hunter in a ghillie suit for a sasquatch if those hunters are any sort of common occurrence, and upon viewing it a few times, it really does seem to be quite large when compared to the trees. But I just feel that we should be careful not to make this into an inkblot test where we start to imagine things that might not be there. I personally am trying to look at this video from the viewpoint of someone without any preconceived notion of Bigfoot and what I see is a human in some sort of hunting outfit. I may be wrong, but that is more plausible to me at this point.

So, you have footage of other bigfoots running from helicopters? Patty didn't run. She walked away in a very purposeful way, and took time to look back at Patterson (and Gimlin who HAD A RIFLE). If you go to the You Tube version(s) of this tape, one of them shows a heli-pad right near where this was shot. Now, if these guys were trying to hoax something why would they leave that in? Or shoot by the little dirt road? Wouldn't they try to make it appear that they were in a more remote area for believability's sake? I've always thought that maybe the definitive bigfoot footage will come when one is filmed in a fairly urban area -I.E. it wanders into our realm where a news crew or citizen films it. Like when young bears and mountain lions have roamed into suburban Denver areas and made it on the 5:00 News. Very few folks have Patterson's spunk to actually rough it enough in bigfoots realm to capture them on film. Maybe this Bigfoot (if it's not a hunter in a ghillie suit) was used to helicopters because it lives nearby. I also think that this one (IF it is one-I'm about 75% leaning that way) is carrying a young one (thats the thing up on its head and neck area that seems to be lower on the back and under it's arm and next to its right leg in other frame blow-ups) and is slowed down because of it and could be in a stupor as to what to do.

After all, they are the king of the woods, why back down from a big mosquito?

Wait a minute, don't most animals run from the sound of a helicopter?? All the nature footage I've seen have them scattering from the sound of the blades and the downdraft of them. I say a hoxes is in play here. Not once did the "creature" look up at the helicopter even to identify that it was there. Only a human that knew what was going to happen would do that.

Next tape please.

I think you can definately see the outline of clothes, I swear on the last frame you can see it's wearing something similar to a brown fishing hat!

How could you possibly get any clarity out of this footage? You can't zoom in on low resolution pixels and expect to be able to make out definition! That's like watching the clouds and each of us having our own unique spin on what one may look like.

Not to sound too right brained but it really doesn't have that mystical bigfoot or cryptid feel to it either. I'll draw the line at a bigfoot wearing a ghillie suit which I think will be the next explanation.

Bottomline: this footage sucks for 2 reasons 1) it's like watching a cell phone movie 2) the people who recorded the footage don't seem to care what they may have recorded because there's no proper Authorisation/accountability/case study to legitimize this claim. Probably a test to see how gullible people are, but that's fairly devious as there is enough evidence for bigfoots existence for a thinking person to consider and want to investigate into this phenomena further without thinking your crazy. I don't think you're going to find the answer with this video though.

First, it is extremely unlikely to find a Saquatch in an open field in broad daylight. Second, the moment he/she heard the helicopter above they would have increased the speed of their gate to the nearest undergrowth or forested area. Neither of these appear to correspond to the footage.

Further viewings have almost convinced me of the mama/baby theory I proposed above. If you notice after the 00:42 mark the object on the back is moving down lower on the back, then into the right arm and finally upright on the ground next to mama's right leg(making it appear twice as thick as the left) as the plane/copter soars past, it seems to walk with the "child" in front (protectively) so the baby is obscured from the camera again. I tell you this is the correct interpretation as far as I can see.

My new thought on this is that it could be a sasquatch with a young one. At the 00.42 mark, pause it and you'll see what some have termed a hood, but it looks like a small one riding piggyback to me. It looks to be a lighter brown color than the big one. See the legs on mama's back? It's basically draping itself over the back of mama's neck and back of her head. This theory would also explain other frames where it appears to have a flap or something under the right arm. And ones (frames) where there seems to be something spanning the upper legs. The little one could be crawling all over mama! If you'll notice-on the frames where there seems to be a mass under the right arm or the upper legs; the "hood" on the head area is Gone! Then again, it could be a guy in a Ghillie suit.

I'm surprised that no one has yet commented on what one could describe as "webbing" between the legs. In several shots one can see a dark shape that extends to about knee level. Now, it could be a sasquatch with Proteus Syndrome or elephantiasis, but that dark flap screams "drover coat" to me...

Just my two cents.

What if its not a helicopter, but a gyrocopter? That could explain why they didn't hover. And why they couldn't get a decent shot of that homeless guy.

As a few previous posters have mentioned, on one pass, as the helicopter goes in front of the figure, there is an instant of color that is distinctly caucasian in shade, right where the face should be.
