As stated during the radio program, MK’s contention isn’t just that Patty is wearing a bone hair clasp, but also that she has a purposefully shaped head, braided hair, and has a digging stick in her hand. In anthropology, we know that there is a hierarchy of cultural development. If Patty is capable of the abstract concept of beauty (braiding, clasp, and head shaping) but doesn’t have clothes, fire, or a social structure…well, then…I’m just not buying it!

I think the idea of a hair clasp isn’t that far-fetched, if you are out to prove a hoax or presuppose a hoax.

The problem here is that Patterson’s film wouldn’t have to be that good to convince his contemporary audience, supposing he did in fact fake it. Was it luck? Or was it a real individual?

Considering the circumstances, I think the idea itself of faking it to such a degree of excellence must be put under common-sensical scrutiny. If Patterson indeed did not go for the trophy of being one of the greatest con artists of modern time, a con genius, I think the movie must be real.

Calash- Oh yeah, chimps are well known to wear hair clips and some primates actually get dye jobs, extensions and weaves. I wonder where Patty gets her hair done?

Interesting Idea. But what would the purpose be? Before you reached the point of constructing a hair clip you would need to know how to tie a simple knot. The hair has to be held in some manner. Has any primate demonstrated this ability?

I think someone has been watching the video a few too many times and is starting to see things that aren’t neccesarily there. I could stare at any video for long enough and start to see things. Enough is enough. Sigh.

Looks like we have another in a line of folks who make significant contributions to the sas field, then go to the other end of the pool.

They may never come up with a name for what’s got M.K. Davis by the brain.
