Update: What Is It? A New Bigfoot Video?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on May 3rd, 2007

Cryptomundo reader Randlet has tipped me off to two additional videos at youtube that claim to be from the same general location. Doing some searching, I found another one as well.
They are from different youtubers, or at least three different user names, also different than the user who posted the first video from that area to youtube.

The first video was posted here at Cryptomundo earlier today at What Is It? A New Bigfoot Video?

Here are the other three videos, with the text from youtube.

Video of Bigfoot

I know Bigfoot is out there, I saw it moving. This picture I took is proof it exists. Washington Park – Portland. Its the real dealBigfootGal

I GOT BIGFOOT ON TAPE! People say it’s a hoax, but its totally not cause I got it and heres the proof of it!

This is around Washington Park in Portland, Lot of heavy forest right near the Zooviddymaker112

I think something escaped from the zoo… I think something escaped from the zoo or something because I took this picture. It sorta looks like a gorilla, but its really big. I didn’t get a really good picture cause it ran away before I could get a good picture.cryptoman322

All four of the videos were uploaded to youtube on March 05, 2007.

I imagine that all four of the youtube identities are the same individual.

  1. DWA responds:

    Ok, they’re getting better.

Swing the arms, conceal the gait (don’t shoot below the waist), may even have seen a sagittal crest, sorta.

    On that SUIT.

Read the descriptions submitted by the shooters. You really think they sound like they saw something they can’t explain?

Right. I hope inarticulateness hasn’t descended to what would be a new low, based on evidence presented here. If you can operate a camcorder, let’s see evidence of more English comprehension.

And to all of you who will come on about close-mindedness and discarding babies with bathwater:

Without the ability to contact a witness? Junk.

And from the earmarks I’m seeing: likely junk. I wouldn’t be placing any phone calls on this one.

As Dr. DWA has said many times: with no way to separate good from bad evidence for absolute certain, and with resources at a premium, there’s certainly a way to bet.

And you know the bet I’m putting on this one.

(To the shooter, if you even care: I wanna help people who saw something real, too. A story? ANY story? And yep, somebody’s gotta contact you. Biscardi, now, might, so sit tight there. He needs something to do.)

  2. richcap responds:

    P-l-e-a-s-e.

Stop wasting good web space and stop wasting everyone’s time.

I highly recommend a “filter” for this site before some of this is junk is posted here on Cryptomundo. For example the other day – “A Pterodactyl video!” which most painfully and clearly showed a Frigate bird or other “normal” bird species. Stop with the garbage. It’s not funny anymore. 🙁

  3. Craig Woolheater responds:

I didn’t realize that richcap was the monitor of what should or should not be posted here on Cryptomundo.

Perhaps you should read my post What Is Cryptomundo?

  4. richcap responds:

lol (wink). Still love ya Craig!

  5. btgoss responds:

It is the same thing in each video. But I am going to say it’s a fake.

Movements don’t seem natural, not really fluid, the head and neck (or what I perceive to be the head and neck area, seem much too thick to be natural). The think neck gives it a squat appearance, like a costume that is bulky in areas that shouldn’t be bulky.

These video’s are not going to help sway anyone’s opinion about the existence of bigfoot.

  6. Delawhere responds:

Sherman Helmsley would be proud of that gait.

  7. Bobcat responds:

Okay. I am of one mind that thinks it is healthy to continue to test our evaluation skills in discerning hoax’s from the “real deal”, but I also have the opinion that by propagating or posting evidence that doesn’t have a trace of authenticity that there is a risk of eroding what scarce hope and credibility there is in the Crypto Community. It can get exhausting and I feel as if many of us who are waiting for credible proof used to get a little hopeful and excited everytime a new picture or video was introduced, now we just prepare for disappointment?

I also sometimes feel that these types of hoaxers demonstrate by their actions that they have no respect for serious research in the field. I know that hoaxers likely post this type of footage with tongue in cheek, but it is hard to distinguish at times whether they are just having fun, testing the community or if it is an expression as to what they think about the BF community. It can feel at times like ridicule to those of us waiting for better evidence.

BTW I think the Frigate bird posting might have some use in letting others distinguish between genuine crypto sightings and known species. I didn’t know what a frigate bird was before the posting and the posting quickly identified the bird.

  8. steveg3474 responds:

I can’t wait for one of these dumbasses to get shot.

  9. squatchwatcher responds:

Well you can tell by the way he walks he’s a ladies man, no time to talk.

  10. kokodhem responds:

Yeah, I’d rather see them here on the off chance that the inevitable Undeniable Proof Video is finally caught, days or weeks before the rest of the world picks it up, than to not have to watch these (often hilarious) hoaxes.

And for the record, these three are more believable to me than any of the “video jerk” category… at least I can understand why they’re blurry with the torrential downpour he’s shooting in…

  11. robot zombie monkey responds:

I call shenanigans on these videos! These are all filmed in the Oregon Zoo, formerly the Washington Park Zoo back when I was a wee kiddy. More specifically this is in the Cascades exhibit (a lovely tree lined gully with several local raptor species in flight cages – hence the Bald Eagle in vid #1). The zoo is quite literally over a small hill from downtown Portland. And while the surrounding area is quite lush, hilly and forested, the zoo is in the middle of the ‘burbs. I suppose it could be possible for a ‘squatch to be paying a visit to the zoo, but he’d had to have either passed through Beaverton or hitched a ride up Burnside to get there. Prolly a zookeeper feeding the Owls.

  12. wildmanmarty responds:

He has probably come out of the forest, desperately searching for food. Somebody give him a box of zoo popcorn, quick!

  13. captiannemo responds:

Swing the arms… Swing the arms…
Yea dide you got it your Squatchin’!

  14. mantis responds:

If I had the chance, I would risk myself to jump out infront of the supposed creature just to get a good picture. From now on, people should actively chase down these out-of-focus creatures so that there will be no dispute.

  15. cabochris responds:

Something to think about. If I ever caught what I believed to be a genuine Bigfoot on video, the last thing I would do is share it right away with the public. I would want to secure my video rights and story first. If my video could prove beyond a doubt the reality of Bigfoot, I would go down in history along with a bundle of cash! I would also start a Bigfoot organization and Save the Bigfoot Fund. It would be non-profit of course.

  16. byondbyond responds:

    Hey – squatchwatcher – LOL – that’s exactly what I was thinking!

Look pretty swanky strutting along there -must be mating season.

  17. monkeyz responds:

I guess bigfoot prefers walking along paved paths now.

  18. rcd5oh responds:

I was strolling through the park one day. In the very month of may LOL

  19. youcantryreachingme responds:

Oh boy – it looks like bigfoot research just got a whole lot harder. What with these three and the chopper clip in the next article – get ready for a swamping of purported BF videos, I say 🙁

  20. elsanto responds:

Not a lot of creativity going on there… it’s like the creator(s) couldn’t come up with new storyboards, so they just employed variations of the same ones time and again. D’you reckon it might be the BBC trying to get more money out of the suit they used in that botched Patterson-Gimlin re-creation?

  21. kamoeba responds:

Little known fact: when Bigfoot visits the zoo he has to buy two tickets–one to get in, and one to get out.

  22. shumway10973 responds:

sagittal crest you say? Naw, that was just a stocking cap. Even Harry that lived with the Hendersons didn’t walk that perfect. This one stands straight up, shoulders back, perfect swing with the arms…hey, that sounds like my fast walking teacher. Ok, gotta ask, why use a video camera on a stationary covered bridge? That one is definitely staged. I’ve done something similar, trying to make it look like I “just happened” to be there. Also, #2, how did they know that it wasn’t just a person with long hair? They were far enough away, it is hard to tell anything different about the walking thing at the other side of the bridge. If it had been me, video taping a stationary object and something came walking out the other end, at that distance I wouldn’t have thought anything of it. #3 is definitely the same person as yesterday. The same zoom, edit effect. I know this one is a fake, “I think something escaped from the zoo… I think something escaped from the zoo or something because I took this picture. It sorta looks like a gorilla, but its really big. I didn’t get a really good picture cause it ran away before I could get a good picture.” Forgive me for saying this, but if I was thinking something the average size of sasquatch escaped from the zoo, forget the camera–it’s time to call the animal roundup experts. Out of them all, the first one almost has it, the second one at least starts out appealing and looking nice. The third…I am appalled these people even submitted it.

  23. joppa responds:

So Bigfoot likes to go to the Zoo. Safe place to strut around without getting shot!

  24. mrdark responds:

Once again, these people get part of the hoax right, then completely bumble something as obvious as possible. What was that conversation like?

‘Hey guy in the gorilla suit: we want this to be as authentic as possible, so STRUT IT LIKE A PIMP!’

  25. alanborky responds:

    Craig, don’t make me laugh!

I don’t want to be harsh, but these all come across as phoney as they come.

That’s no Bigfoot, but it might be a retired British Army Sergeant Major with a fetish for wearing rubber monkey suits.

It’s the same ‘critter’ in each film, but it’s also the same camera and operator shooting each film, even though we’re supposed to believe they’re all shot by different people.

And given that all the films’ve been taken in the early hours of the morning – to go by the general, overall highly dew charged air – and but for the presence of the camera operator and Sergeant Major Monkey Suit there’s no one else around, I’d say this’s been shot by folk working at the zoo in order to raise its media profile.

In which case, good luck to them!

  26. alanborky responds:

    P.S.

It’s also just occurred to me what I couldn’t put my finger on until now!

None of the zoo’s animals are reacting to the smell of the ‘Bigfoot’, and most eye – and for that matter, nose – witnesses attest to the olfactory impact these guys have both on the witnesses themselves and any animals in the neighbourhood, particularly animals – such as pets – accustomed to the smell of humans.

  27. ShefZ28 responds:

He’s walking like he just “got some”…

    I don’t get it.

  28. robman1014 responds:

    Another boorish hoax.

The Portland zoo is up on the hill that overlooks downtown Portland. You can walk right into the downtown from the “heavily wooded area” which is actually a very busy public park and teeming with people all the time.

I agree, someone’s going to get shot soon. Maybe they’ll take it more serious then.

  29. Randlet responds:

My thinking is that hoaxes are very important, the more that we analyze every fake out there the quicker we can discount them and when a real one comes along that doesn’t previously fit our knowledge of a hoax, well that’s time for some fun.

  30. bill green responds:

hey craig & everyone wow interesting new updates about this oregon filmfootage, like all the above replys as well. hey loren whats your honest opinion about this new filmfootage. thanks bill 🙂

  31. Pvolitans responds:

Who are they kidding? I was just at the Oregon Zoo in Feb 2007 and that’s exactly where the videos were captured. The rust-colored hut at the end of the last video is probably the entrance to the Bald Eagle aviary, just uphill from the Cougar enclosure. BF must have gotten past the doors to the aviary and started taking a nice stroll along the pavement. Perhaps it was also simultaneously reading up on the seasonal salmon migration from the info-panels located by the sidewalk.

  32. raisinsofwrath responds:

Anyone that uses the phrase “its totally not cause I got it” has to be legit!

    LOL!

  33. fuzzy responds:

    Good Grief!

  34. mystery_man responds:

I think the fact that they are from different user names does not necessarily mean these were all taken by different people, and even if they were, they could all be in on a cooperative hoax. To me, saying that three users posted these doesn’t add that much credibility to this video, and I think it was done intentionally to try and make it seem more believable. Ditto on the rain. They probably thought that nobody would question a hoax being done in the rain. Sorry they got all wet for nothing because I’m not buying this video at all.

As for these clips being posted, on the one hand I think it is very useful for learning how to pick these hoaxes apart. I also appreciate the fact that Loren and Craig do not try to feed us the answers or what they think, but rather let us think and evaluate these clips for ourselves. On the other hand, they make us perhaps overly quick to judge some clips. The only drawback I personally see to these being posted is that I feel some here are getting tired and jaded from the hoaxes and this may unfortunately affect our judgement when a potentially real piece of footage comes along. I really feel that some may be needlessly harsh and harbor biases against clips that have potential simply because we have been exposed to so many bad ones. This clip, to me, is one of the bad ones.

  35. DWA responds:

I’m seeing lots of strange stuff on this thread.

Stuff about people being jaded, exhausted, overwhelmed. About people’s hope fading. About people preparing for disappointment, as if such requires you to put on a uniform and pads or something. About, when will the madness END? About, sheesh, the Easter Bunny being next!

Um, folks. alanborky’s laughing. And so are several others here. Good. Best medicine. Let’s. K?

It takes about three seconds to click, laugh, post if you want (OK that gets into some minutes) and move on. This is cryptozoologoy. How many cryptids get discovered daily? Can you say “slow news day”?

You’re going to get blizzarded by these. What are you clicking on them for? When it’s a piece of genuine footage you won’t be seeing the cryptic tag. You’ll know before you even open the blog. Shoot you may see it on the freakin’ NEWS before you open the blog.

Approaching this area as, essentially, an outsider

(Aside Alert: I’m just interested in animals and think the sasquatch is plausible, only reason I’m here but thanks for all the other stuff, really, anyone with any interest in animals worth having should really bookmark this site, there, you got yer plug),

    I’ve noticed this about cryptos:

    1. They’re highly sensitive, too many of them if not all (thankfully not too many who come here), and too too entirely TOO concerned with being taken seriously. (Overreactions to stuff like this aren’t helping that image.)

    2. They care what hoaxers THINK of them.

    3. They care what hoaxers THINK of the field.

    4. They care what hoaxers THINK.

    5. They don’t use posts like this the way they should be used: to educate themselves and others in why, when genuine footage does come, it will be almost instantly recognizable as such.

    Keep your shirts on, K?

  36. hudgeliberal responds:

Yeah, I am really tired of all the stupid videos that are showing up on YouTube/Google and other video posting sites. It really takes away from all the intelligent and dedicated enthusiasts. While I think sasquatch may have gone extinct in the early to mid 80’s (I really hope I am wrong), idiots like this are what make the rest of us the object of jokes and ridicule. I applaud guys like Meldrum, who risk their career and reputation to try and get to the bottom of this mystery. I think if science would take this serious, the answer could be found within a year. With all the evidence that we have, why isn’t this investigated? With some animals a grainy photo is all it takes to prove existence Why not at least give sasquatch a chance? Look at all the birds and other animals that have been taken off the endangered or extinct list just because of a couple of grainy photos. I guess its just a double standard, like everything else in the world today.

  37. YourPTR! responds:

That last one, which you get to see the best shot of the alleged “Bigfoot”, is the least convincing of all the videos. Clearly all are hoaxes by the same individual or individuals of a person wearing a cheap monkey suit!

  38. mystery_man responds:

DWA- Very true. Reactions like this just show the hoaxers that they are getting a rise out of everyone, which will just make them want to do it more. Anyway, I’ve snapped out of my jaded mode about these videos. Bring ’em on, I’m ready! 🙂

  39. Neworderedworld responds:

That second video really is starting to look more and more ridiculous. they have a “purposeful” feel to them, like the author of them has staged it so you crave for more. I’m having trouble figuring out the angles on the last one let alone the moving object which they claim is “bigfoot” – strange people.

If the actual motions of the being in question were credible enough to be that of a bigfoot, but that then brings us into what is collectively considered, what may indeed well be, a bigfoot captured on film and just how intelligent is this creature?

Supposing the bigfoot exists beyond a shadow of a doubt (it probably goes on existing anyways without our “acknowledgment”). But seriously are we gonna write this phenomenon off collectively as an over-sized ape with known limited intelligent co-ordination, so therefore equal to deer to the eyes of a hunter? I don’t want to seem like a liberal nut job but where do we draw the line?

There’s that footage from Kentucky that got taken down supposedly for a film. That to me shows some credibility to the authenticity of that footage, but it could also be a PR stunt to create the necessary hype. But that footage shows the being to have almost as much awareness of itself as us. Just by watching it walk you can see a similar sense of intelligence. I may be over-studying these videos to get a good idea of what to expect when it comes to communication ideas with such a being.

But aren’t they our cosmic neighbors waiting to be discovered but only with the right attitude? – that maybe the real key to this.

I mean there’s talk and no doubt you’ve heard that according to the Mayan calendars we’re coming up to that window of time predicted to be a kind of rejoining with the tapestry of all being. That is to say; to get a real sense of humanity being just one thread (not the only important strand!) in the fabric of all that is self aware in this universe.

I’m not setting bigfoot standards here but there is a cruel cold outlook on the world and we can align ourselves to that hierarchical perception of the universe and end up treating the bigfoot like crap. Like stick it in labs and have it put on display like a freak show. That’ll show the universe our respect for other creatures that express a level of intelligence similar to ours. It’s such a strange subject matter.
