Don Keating is retiring from the Bigfoot arena. Marc DeWerth who assisted Don for many years is taking the reins from Don. The event was originally going to be located at the Salt Fork Lodge, but an unforeseen scheduling conflict for the scheduled weekend meant the event needed a new venue.

The events are different.

One is a Cryptozoology conference, covering not only Bigfoot, but also the Dogman and the Honey Island Swamp Monster.

Marc’s event is focusing solely on Bigfoot.

About three weeks ago, people on the mailing list for the Ohio Bigfoot Conference and Expo, which had been held for years at the Salt Fork State Park lodge, received a brief message from Mr. Keating that there would be no conference in 2012. Then a few days later came the announcement that the conference had been renamed the “Ohio Cryptozoology Conference” and would go on as scheduled, same date (May 18-20) and place. Now we hear there will be another “Ohio Bigfoot Conference” April 29 just a few miles from Salt Fork. Is there really a need for two conferences so close in place and time?
