I hope Lee will forgive me, but my first thought on seeing that the book offers a connection between a monster and a voodoo priestess was "Didn't they do that story on 'Scooby Doo?'"

Seriously, I'm looking forward to reading this one, especially as it deals with a lesser-known cryptid, which to me makes for a more interesting tale.

I guess it is just a defensive reflex, Craig. I personally haven't read any of his books yet, since the local library tends to be poor on any books that even touch cryptozoology. Sure, we have Loren and Patrick's book on lake monsters and sea serpents, but it sits right next to A Natural History of the Unnatural World. I'll probably have to look for these books out of parish like I did with Bernard Heuvelmans' classics and the Field Guide to Bigfoot, Yeti, and Other Mystery Apes Worldwide. Oh well, I haven't read any new fiction in a while, so I might as well get something on a topic I can enjoy. I've heard plenty of good things about it.'

Rappy, I don't know why that would make you uncomfortable. The UFOs and ghosts will be the subjects of other books. They are not in any of the other books in the Kodiak series.

Something about hearing the name of my home state, Voodoo, the Honey Island Swamp Monster, UFOs, and ghosts all in the same article makes me uneasy...I have no idea why.
