One correction to Cliff's account of my Sasquatch enocunter, as relayed to him during the Finding Bigfoot filming: We did not see a tree being shaken, but rather completely pushed over, after 4-5 huge pushes and creaks that resulted in the complete felling of the tree.

As someone who has personal experience in the Edmonton/Alberta Canada region a couple of things caught my attention regarding the Todd Standing controversy.

Firstly the area of his research he himself gave away (almost certainly). I will divulge the exact location of the area for two reasons. The first is: the entire area is a grizzly bear death trap for humans. This has been the case for several years. The other reason is that nobody is going to go there in numbers or frequency enough to matter because of the almost impossibly difficult terrain. The area is only an option for the very fittest outdoorsmen with uncommonly advanced survival skills and Everest quality equipment. Catskill Park it is not!

Sasquatch do not occupy small geographical areas on any kind of permanent basis (IMO). To confirm the probable location further; it lies approx 65 miles away from Standings current residence (if I have that info correct) The area is under the joint jurisdiction the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Tribal representatives*. Just this year the Canadian Parks authority has officially “welcomed back” the Tribal Nation of the Stoney Nakota First Nations tribe to the Banff Park after a century of occupation. (more correctly the Îyârhe Nakoda tribe), their historic homeland lies right in the middle of the Albert River Valley area.

For several years problem grizzly bears have been relocated from various park areas like Lake Louis in Banff National park by the B.C Conservation Officer Service and released in the Mount Soderholm; Albert River Valley areas. I’m told that even experienced first Nations trackers balk at entering the several drainages in that vicinity. Remember these are human habituated, garbage conditioned problem grizzlies to begin with, (usually quite large) they are not afraid of humans and just as likely to carry out a predatory attack on hunters, hikers, and sasquatch field investigators as not. I know of at least two well experienced, well armed hunters that simultaneously lost their lives there in the 90’s due to a fatal bear attack, (ambush) and were mostly consumed. My advice: stay the hell away from the Albert river valley drainages.

I’m not about to write off the Standing’s reports as total hogwash yet, partly because of the fact that the area above is accurately if loosely described. Even the geology looks spot on! To find the area described above, here are the coordinates: 50°43’05.71” N, 115°33’37.11”W

For the life of me I can’t understand the thick-headedness of field investigators that think a phony deer head is going to fool hyper-vigilant, intelligent creatures that have adapted throughout the millenniums to be well able to recognize, smell and probably sense and taste a real deer from 800 yards away. Ahem…as one associate reminded me just last night; Finding Bigfoot isn’t about finding bigfoot…its merely entertainment. I guess that’s Okay for her, for me I need a believable storyline to be entertained.

The first nations People: they will tell them whatever they want to hear (with a friendly smile on their faces); These majestic peoples remember all to well; “White man speak with forked tongue!”

Finding Bigfoot Drinking Game!

The rules are quite simple:

- Take a pull off your beer any time someone says Squatch.
- Do a shot any time some one says a variation of Squatch- squatchy, squatching, etc.
- Chug when one of the "researchers" makes a claim that the evidence or story is definitely a Bigfoot. For example, when Bobo sees a marking on a tree or hears a knock and says "There is definitely a squatch in the area" or "I am confident that is a squatch!", you would chug what is left of your beer.
