Canadian Bigfoot Video Footage on eBay

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 6th, 2007

Ending in just under one and a quarter hours is an auction for purported Bigfoot video footage on eBay.

There are actually 4 bids for the footage and the hid bid is currently $2520.00.

Below is the description from eBay.

Hello, I have no idea who to contact over this actual and real footage that has never been seen before. The few people who have watched this video I captured while visiting Banff, Alberta, Canada, almost had a heart attack seeing it. My wife has convinced me to try and use eBay as a method of getting some attention about it and, obviously, I have agreed as the wife always wins.

I was walking with friends after enjoying a fire and was video taping the day. In the evening, we went for a walk down a path and this is when a thing that was absolutely massive, about 9 feet tall with massive shoulders, arms and legs came marching across our path. I almost fainted as I collapsed right into the snow bank.

We shook for hours and watched it over and over and over again. For a long time, we thought it could be some kind of trick, but, who would go to all that trouble to do that for us? Who in Alberta Canada is over 8 feet tall. How many human beings are there in the world 9 feet tall with arms like a Gorilla>?

I am in no position to fight copyright infringement and just want to flat out sell the rights. I mean, you could make books, T-shirts, television shows, coffee mugs with some of the shots that I have on this tape. Oh, maybe even prints and posters. Someone told me that footage sold for $100,000.00. I will start it at a fraction and this is not a joke.

I am an eBay power seller with almost 1000 transactions and would not ruin my reputation over something like this. There really is something on my tape.

Bigfoot, Myth no More? Think about the companies that would line up to get air-time on this. Like that beer company in British Columbia that has that park Warden always chasing the Bigfoot who steals his beer.

PLEASE EXAMINE WHAT THE PICTURES DISPLAY. THE ACTUAL images of this thing ARE 32-33 FRAMES AND THIS IS JUST A PICTURE OF THE IMAGE FROM THE TELEVISION. EXAMINE THE LENGTH OF THE ARMS!!

The next image displays the massive shoulders and head. Once again, you can see it better on tape. It was like a flash at how this thing went by. You could figure out his height from the stride in his step. The display info is just a feature on the VCR.

The head was also large(full views are better on the tape)and the flash is from the light of the camera.

I am guessing, Real hair reflects light just like the reflection of the leaves as the tree bark remains dark. I am just using logical thinking, and am I not an expert.

I want to Donate 10 percent of the sale to The Hope Mission because they struggle to help people who are homeless. The winner will get the tax-write off in their own name to insure the funds are donated.

Please email. I am at home all the time.

Also, Thank you for all the interest. The shots in this tape are a lot closer than the Paterson film and the shots are from the left side turning to back.

On Jun-03-07 at 18:29:01 PDT, seller added the following information:

Wow, thanks for the offers!!! With all the publicity this is getting, I can not end the auction early. The highest bidder gets the next Bigfoot feature.

On Jun-04-07 at 22:02:13 PDT, seller added the following information:

Please keep in mind that there are 30-31 other frames that display what walked by better, showing the head, back, torso(examine the width of the back), arms (pay attention to the length and width), height (imagine a man 6 feet tall standing beside it). They made a show of some eyes in the trees…What could you do with this.

On Jun-04-07 at 22:08:46 PDT, seller added the following information:

Okay, I can see it now…On the Last picture on eBay, To the top of the left side of the shot(over the head) it looks to be a skull looking down on the thing. You were right…That is scary.

On Jun-04-07 at 22:17:45 PDT, seller added the following information:

Oh my, if you also look over the right shoulder you can also make out a face in the light. My Wife is not here right now, and I feel like getting a hotel room.

On Jun-04-07 at 22:33:39 PDT, seller added the following information:

I just had to go through the garbage to re-locate the picture…there is a close up for you as you have requested.

On Jun-04-07 at 22:42:01 PDT, seller added the following information:

Please keep in mind the image of the this frame is clear but the photo was in the trash.paxton.house

Here are the photos taken of the Bigfoot video footage as shown at the auction site.

  1. Sasquatchery responds:

Looks like just another “tubesquatch”, as you call it. The stills show nothing. At this point in the game videos even if real are fairly useless for proving anything or for us researchers learning anything new. Unless it was much clearer and more compelling than the Patterson-Gimlin film, and judging by the stills this one obviously is not.

Besides, the fact that it’s on eBay and the conduct of the owner of the footage as explained in the description should throw red flags for everyone.

  2. Richard888 responds:

The next wave of sasquachoria may hit eBay.

  3. raisinsofwrath responds:

Sorry, I just don’t see how this could sell based on the pics. I see nothing conclusive.

  4. Benjamin Radford responds:

    there’s a sucker born every minute….

  5. Chris Noel responds:

I hate to play the “sucker” but something about this feels authentic. The stills are fuzzy but do not strike me as the man-in-a-suit garden-variety hoax. Anyone out there feel the same?

  6. Jason P. responds:

If there are only 31 (or 33–the seller changes his mind, apparently) frames, that’s just over 1 second of footage.

  7. Ole Bub responds:

    Good morning Cryptos…

I have better images than those on my Desktop. There are serious researchers out there who have convincing high resolution digital images, gathered DNA material and taken compelling video…but then a strange thing happens. If you share images or evidence you are either ridiculed by scoftics and wannabes or worse, invaded by eco-tourists and interlopers…with no concern or thought to the impact on the squatch population.

As serious researchers become more familar with the “big folks” a fiduciary bond begins to develop. When folks observe clans and family units struggling to make a successful living on the fringe of our urbanization…perspective’s begin to change from the urge to discover to the need to protect…JMHO

The weekend warriors who play soldier and beat their chests…are destined to chase their tails…JMHO The serious folks with real results and tangible evidence tend to preserve and protect these magnificent creatures and their areas of research…can you blame them?

I’m blessed to know some of these folks and honored they share their results with an ole bub.

    Live and let live…

    ole bub and the dawgs

  8. punydevil responds:

What a shock — the winning bidder has no feedback history! Could the mysterious purchaser be the seller and the other sucker bids his friends/acquaintances, or is it just another Nigerian “cashier’s check” scam? Yes, stunning Bigfoot footage which the seller knows could make him “$100,000” and he sells it with no reserve for a couple thousand. Oh yeah. Entirely plausible.

  9. proriter responds:

    More twaddle for the gullible.

  10. fuzzy responds:

    Perfectly clear to me.

  11. Ceroill responds:

As I have occasionally said here: Oy.

  12. mystery_man responds:

Haha! Listen to this person’s sales pitch for the video. It sounds like a used car salesman! The fact that obviously making financial gains off of footage like this is possible will only serve to increase the amount of hoaxes we will be seeing. Even if this video is somehow real, a hoaxer sees the amount to be made by selling it and goes out looking to make a paycheck. My flags are up on this one.

  13. fuzzy responds:

    Oy, vague?

  14. DARHOP responds:

Well, we’ll just have to see if the buyer shares it with the rest of the world. I personally wouldn’t pay 2500 bucks for anything without seeing it first. Like when I bought my Street Rod on e-bay for 25 grand. Didn’t go by just the photos. Had to drive it first. Common sense. Anyway, sure would be nice of the buyer to share it with the rest of us though. At least (lend) it to the right people to analyze. So we could see it in motion. These stills are hard to see it. Though I think I see its form. Another blur shot, but I see it.

  15. fuzzy responds:

Mystery-man – back to the same question, again:

If YOU had a the perfect video or photo of “something”, who ya gonna call?

  16. nanniegoat responds:

My 21 year old son just arrived home from a trip to Las Vegas with some beautifully taken pictures on his tiny digital camera. Now if a slightly inebriated kid on the loose in that place can get a clear picture, why can’t any of these sasquatch picture takers????

  17. Chris Noel responds:

Two things do bother me, though, in addition to his apparent willingness to part with the footage for a song. First, why did he wait more than three-and-a-half years between shooting it and selling it. Presumably during that time, he could have figured out a more sensible avenue through which to share his evidence. Second, the buyer’s handle is “vtshute,” which may be a reference to “Virginia Tech shoot.”

  18. mystery_man responds:

Fuzzy- In this case? Who am I gonna call? I guess if I was this guy, I’d call the highest bidder! Come on, I understand that some people might not know what to do with a video, but this person seems to know exactly what he is doing, to the tune of a few thousand dollars. He even describes himself as a “power seller” on E-Bay. Is it me, or is that a tad suspicious? I get the feeling that this guy knows what he is doing.

  19. Bob Michaels responds:

There is a market for any product associated with Big Foot. Why Not Big Foot Underwear, suits, hats, shoes, sox with the adage any one could be a Big Foot.

  20. fuzzy responds:

    Mystery-man: No, NOT this case.

IF YOU HAD THE PERFECT, DAYLIGHT, CRYSTAL-CLEAR, FULL FRONTAL, FULL COLOR, CLOSE UP, STEREO SOUND, HALF-HOUR, FULL MOTION, UNMISTAKEABLE DIGITAL VIDEO (OR STILLS) OF A WHOLE FAMILY OF 8, 6 and 4 FOOT HAIRY UPRIGHT BIPEDAL CRYPTID SOMETHINGS, ENGAGED IN FORAGING FOR EDIBLES, OR WALKING THE BEACH, OR SIMPLY WATCHING YOU, WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH IT?

    WHO YA GONNA CALL??

In the best interests of science, humanity, the cryptid family, yourself and your wallet, what’s the best action to take? An eMail to Loren-Craig-Jeff Meldrum, or the Smithsonian, or CNN-Fox-CBS-NBC-ABC-PBS, your attorney, eBay, the President, the Military… what’s the BEST thing to do?

I know what I would do – how about you?

  21. CryptoGoji responds:

I would hate to be that guy when he tells his wife (supposing that the bidder is male and married) the he spent over $2000 on a “Tubesquatch” “Um, yea honey, but this is proof that Bigfoot is real!” and the next umpteen years of couch time is spent. Your right Benjamin Radford, there is a sucker born every minute.

As for the answer to fuzzy question, any Major anthropological university in the country to analize the footage and then send out their own investigative party to find the truth, although they would most likely laugh us out of the area…. Oh well, all in the name of science.

  22. mystery_man responds:

Fuzzy- yeah, haha. That’s a good question. Who would I call? Hmmm. I’m sure what I said now and what I would actually do would be different. If it was unmistakeable footage and not the blobsquatch photos I see here? I might pass it by someone like Loren to see what he thinks and then go from there or even show it to someone here in Japan. If it was genuine it would obviously be groundbreaking, so some thought would have to be given to it. I certainly would not go the e-Bay route. That is a good question to make a thread about, what would you do? Who would you show it to? Thanks for the friendly banter on this.

  23. asrai responds:

Wow I don’t see anything in these photos. I would like to see the actual footage though. Maybe the person who buys it will show it to the public. I can only hope.

  24. DARHOP responds:

I’d get it authenticated at UW or somewhere like that. Then I’d e-bay it (Just kidding). Just being the person that took the authenticated footage of the Big Guy, and having my name mentioned would be good enough for me. But I’m sure some $ would come when the video was proven real. I’m sure Hollywood would be calling about movie rights and crap like that. There’s your $. Could be wrong though. Wouldn’t be the first time.

  25. YourPTR! responds:

I don’t see a Bigfoot. Man, that is terrible!
