At the beginning of the 20th century the animal was widespread and common throughout the island, but since that time the numbers had declined severly due to poaching for the Chinese horn trade for medicinal purposes, a bunch of Hokey Pokey medicine. I really don't care who gets credit for the picture, I just hope the Rhinos are protected worldwide and their habitat and population is restored to historical numbers.
