Tribute rather than remake? Sounds good to me. Location looks great, will make an attractive spooky film, much like the first (and best) film.

I’m a fan of the original (not counting the sequels, etc.), and yeah, it was melodramatic, but the movie had a lot of character.

So, I am glad to hear, for once, that it’s not a remake just to make a few bucks off of nostalgia, and I hope they do something original and creative with it. I’ll probably go see it now that I know that it’s not just a remake.

This new film will surely add to the confusion of the Boggy Creek series. First there was the cult classic, “Legend of Boggy Creek.” then their was an unauthorized sequel, “Return to Boggy Creek” starring Dana Plato. That was followed by original Boggy Creek director, Charles B. Pierce’s inferior sequel, “Boggy Creek II: And The Legend Continues.” That last film was so bad, it was ridiculed on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Call it a “reimagining” of the Boggy Creek tale, I guess. Never cared for the old versions but I’m willing to give this one a shot.
At least it is bringing the tale back into public consciousness…

Haven’t seen the first one but the scenery alone gives this one a decent shot to be on my ‘to watch list.’ The director has a lot of primal fears to work with. Creepy swampy scenery, big hairy creatures running around the woods. Hope he does a good job.
