"The Beauties and the Beast" has to rank as one of the worst. (Shameless plug: I reviewed it here.)

Moderator's note: the website the link goes to has adult content.

There's a new (?) 2-disc documentary that's on Netflix called "Sasquatch Science" that, unfortunately, falls far short of the mark, though not exactly for the reasons you may think.

Here, for your consideration, is my actual Netflix review:

---

This "documentary" is the perfect remedy for those sleepless nights... pop this one in the DVD player and I guarantee you'll by snoozin' before the first chapter's over thanks to the agonizingly unending home-video quality footage of acceptably legit experts in their fields sharing their insights into the Bigfoot phenomena. The low rating isn't due to the lack of useful, impressive statistical information on display, but rather for the presentation side of it. I ain't tryin' to be lectured for too-many-hours-to-count, I'm tryin' to see me some Sasamasquatch re-enactments or at the very least some good first-person encounter stories! Yes, I believe in the probable existance of these creatures, but I fear that this 2-disc yawner will turn more people off than win any converts. Stick with "Legend of Boggy Creek" to get the maximum bang for your buck.

---

I'm sure there's plenty of folks who'd disagree, but that there's my two cents on the situation, for whatever it's worth. Excelsior! :D

Boggy Creek is tops, although I can remember watching several re-enactment-style documentaries from the 70's on bigfoot that captured some of the same creepy feel. It helped that at least one of them was narrated by Rod Serling. I have to say, though, that Harry and the Hendersons is the only one I actually own. As for worst, I seem to have avoided all of the really bad ones over the years. Since I've been reading Cryptomundo, I now have my own pool of critics to draw from, and I value the opinions presented here. Hence, why I've avoided Abominable...

The worst I have seen is "to catch a yeti" starring Meatloaf. The yeti is about knee-high, and has huge feet. A real torture to watch. My fave is the "abominable snowman of the himalayas". Saw boggy creek at the drive-in when it came out! Liked it a lot. I have around here somewhere a movie I think is called "bigfoot" that has a boy that makes friends with a bigfoot. A really bad film. I will dig it up. Yarri

Ok, the Rankin-Bass picture was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964). Hermie was the elf dentist-in-training.
