The Six Million Dollar Man The Secret of Bigfoot

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on April 9th, 2007

In the last several weeks, there have been three separate posts here on Cryptomundo that referenced The Six Million Dollar Man episodes with Bigfoot.

They are in order of most recent:

Are You Out There Bigfoot?

Bigfoot: Ten Video Appearances

Sasquatch on the Sulphur

This was the first appearance of Bigfoot on the show, it was a two part episode. This episode was originally broadcast February 1, 1976 as The Secret of Bigfoot. Episode 2 was broadcast on February 4, 1976.

André the Giant was the man in the Bigfoot suit in these episodes.

Bigfoot ended up being an android under the control of aliens.

Bigfoot showed up in the premiere of the following season’s Six Million Dollar Man.

The Return of Bigfoot was another 2 part episode.

I will discuss those episodes here on Cryptomundo shortly.

AH, the Six Million dollar man…brings back the memories…had lots of toys of the show too, though I never got BF…let’s hear it for nostalgia…

  2. Cryptonut responds:

Problem solved….enlist Lee Majors to find him again!

  3. bill green responds:

that was a awesome 2 part episodes. bill

I was only 3 (max.) and I remember them pretty well. I had the action figure doll. If I remember right Sandi Duncan was one of the aliens. If it wasn’t her, then it sure looked like her. I think the thing that stuck in my memory is that in one episode steve austin tore sasquatches arm off. And wasn’t it something like a volcano that got them to work together or something? I wish I had faster connection speed.

  5. squatchwatcher responds:

Man, you gotta love the six-million dollar man! They just don’t make tv shows the way they use to. My brothers and I use to have the action figures, but not bigfoot. I saw on ebay a couple of weeks ago some guy was selling the bigfoot action figure. Ahhh memories.

  6. mystery_man responds:

This is a brilliantly cheesy little blast from the past! Favorite line- “My money is on the sasquatch.” Genius.

  7. DavidFullam responds:

Oh my God, do I wish I still had all my Six Million Dollar Man toys. I had the title character, Bigfoot, Oscar Goldman, Masktron or whatever his name was. Why did I ever have to grow up?

  8. Ceroill responds:

Shumway, that was Season 3, Episodes 17 and 18. No that wasn’t Sandy Duncan. From the IMDB entry it seems likely it was Penelope Windlust as Marlene Becker. I will refrain from giving the link, but you can easily look it up yourself.

  9. kamoeba responds:

I believe Ted Cassidy (“Lurch” of the Addams Family TV series) also played Bigfoot on this show.

  10. crgintx responds:

No, It was Andre the Giant in the first 2 episodes. Ted Cassidy was in The Return of Bigfoot. Andre the Giant shows that hominids can get very large and strong. He was 7’4″ over 500 lbs at his max and I saw on tv take a one inch thick steel bar in his bare hands and bend it like it was pretzel. Several other famous large wrestlers often refused to take pictures with him because he made them look small. Imagine how strong a real Bigfoot is?
