No evidence is impossible to deny, all it takes is one close minded ignorant individual to turn her nose up at the corpse in the center of the room, and bingo, someone just denied the evidence you get no money!

So I don’t think this program will do the research any good, and may help the skeptics in denying Bigfoots existence.
An ignorant skeptic could then say “They offered a 10 million dollar reward, and there was still no evidence!”

What I don’t understand is your second paragraph.

“Fanatical devotion to a possibility” and requesting attention to evidence are two different things. True belief is always rejected by anyone who understands how science works.

Ignorance of the evidence is never open-minded. Or if it is, well, that’s what they mean by so much so that your brains fall out.

That doesn’t change no matter the field.

And what I meant by “better than FB” being worse. In terms of the objective, incentive trumps ratings. In terms of how the objective is accomplished….well, I’d rather have a sasquatch hitch a ride with Ranae. And the likelihood of that is greater than the likelihood of FB succeeding in any other fashion, except for ratings, which of course mean nothing unless you’re bankrolling the show.

But indeed. That anyone would even do this – seen “Shoot a Centaur” lately? – is all the proof anyone should need of the failure of mainstream science on this question.

Somebody is paying attention to the evidence.

And it’s still almost exclusively the wrong people.

This is a fairly tame site with regards to comments. Yet the fanatical devotion to a possibility and the total rejection of anything but a true belief is sad. There are not as many open minds here as one might think.

But, when science abdicates its responsibility for pushing the boundaries of human knowledge, we should not be surprised of outcomes like this.

That may indeed be the worst thing about this.
