Bigfoot & Moneymaker on Fox Video

Posted by: Loren Coleman on June 30th, 2007

Fox News doesn’t really care about Bigfoot, of course. I learned that in 2005, and this new June 2007 spot with Matt Moneymaker merely reinforces that feeling. Matt’s “interview” is a comedic tragedy, complete with a fade out, as it ends with the sounds from the studio of laughter. Video.

Stinky, Hairy and Mean - Amazonian Bigfoot?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 30th, 2007

Perhaps it is nothing more than a legend, as skeptics say. Or maybe it is real, as those who claim to have seen it avow. But the mere mention of the mapinguary, the giant sloth-like monster of the Amazon, is enough to send shivers down the spines of almost all who dwell in the world’s largest rain forest.

The folklore here is full of tales of close encounters with this Big Foot of the Amazon, stories so widespread and so consistent in their details that in recent years a few scientists have organized expeditions to try to find the mapinguary (pronounced MA-ping-war-E). They have not succeeded yet.

Snowmen Seeker? Pamir Expedition Leader Dies

Posted by: Loren Coleman on June 30th, 2007

Malcolm Slesser small

Little is known of what the Soviet Russians did on their Pamir Mountains’ “Snowmen” expeditions of the 1960s. Was Tom Slick or one of his friends secretly involved in funding an expedition? The death on June 26, 2007, of Malcolm Slesser, 82, makes me wonder anew.

New Bigfoot Video From Texas?

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 29th, 2007

On a secret, secluded location in the north Texas woods, a video camera equipped with a night-vision lens captured something strange. A hunched-over figure moves among the trees. It travles fast, appearing to skirt the trunks and branches with ease, despite the pich-black of night. The figure traverses a ravine and then moves off-camera, with the crunching of branches and leaves to mark its passage.

Krantz Is Dead: Comment to Anthropologist Hawks

Posted by: Loren Coleman on June 27th, 2007

Grover KrantzThe University of Wisconsin’s John Hawks’ newest Bigfoot-related criticism is misdirected. He is merely trying to make points among Bigfoot skeptics who take delight in every chance they can to label hominology as a “pseudoscience.”

China Discovers Gigantoraptor Dinosaur

Posted by: Craig Woolheater on June 27th, 2007

China has uncovered the skeletal remains of a gigantic, surprisingly bird-like dinosaur, which has been classed as a new species.

Eight meters (26 ft) long and standing at twice the height of a man at the shoulder, the fossil of the feathered but flightless Gigantoraptor erlianensis was found in the Erlian basin in Inner Mongolia, researchers wrote in the latest issue of Nature.
